Dr. Singer joined Athenian Properties in January 2008 as Data Strategist. She oversees all information technology infrastructure and provides specialized data and geographical analysis both internally and for clients such as the School District of Philadelphia. Prior to joining Athenian, but after serving as an Associate Professor of Mathematics (with tenure) at Haverford College, Dr. Singer ran a small residential real estate development company as well as a small data services company.

Since fall 2008 she has served as Ward Leader of the Eighth Ward Democratic Executive Committee, an elected position she earned in part for her understanding of modern election data strategies and her work promoting transparency and accessibility of data in Pennsylvania. In particular, she is responsible for the wide availability of the Pennsylvania voter file at a price of only $20, and the availability of local Philadelphia election results in electronic form.

Dr. Singer earned her Ph.D. from the Courant Institute at New York University and her B.S. from Yale University, both in Mathematics. She received advanced training in Computer Science at Stanford University. She has received numerous awards and fellowships (from the National Science Foundation, the Sloan Foundation, IBM and the Bunting Institute, among others) for her mathematical research. She has received accolades from scientists, including one Nobel Laureate, for her expository books on mathematical physics. Dr. Singer maintains an active Pennsylvania Real Estate Salesperson license and serves on the board of the East Park Revitalization Alliance.
