Mr. Holmbeck possesses a broad background in Real Estate Finance and Accounting Management, Construction Project Delivery, Entrepreneurial Management, and Mortgage Banking. He joined Athenian Properties in February 2008 as our Controller.

Since joining Athenian, Mr. Holmbeck has utilized his experience in project cost accounting and financial reporting to work extensively on the anticipated cost reporting for a $65 million data center project. Additionally, he has an active role in the delivery of monthly and quarterly reports to Athenian's Real Estate Investment Trust clients. He manages all internal accounting responsibilities for Athenian and works on project teams executing development and construction projects for both Athenian and its customers.

Immediately prior to joining Athenian, Mr. Holmbeck served as the Corporate Controller for a privately held real estate development and management group with assets throughout the United States and over 7,000,000 square feet under management. Prior to that role, he was a partner in a construction firm that delivered over $145 million in construction services to Fortune 500 companies over an 8 year period. he served as Chief Financial Officer and Executive VP. Prior to his entrepreneurial venture in the construction industry, Mr. Holmbeck excelled in a business development role for a regional mortgage lender.

Mr. Holmbeck has an Economics degree from the University of Pennsylvania and an MBA in Finance from the Katz Graduate School of Business at the University of Pittsburgh. He is a member of the Urban Land Institute (ULI) and Financial Executives Networking Group (FENG).
