Situation
The unified school districts of Santa Monica and Malibu decided to embark on a public planning process to improve their already excellent schools.
Response
The District hired a consortium of planners including Concordia LLC, Harvey Ellis Devereaux, and Sidewalk Studio. This group in turn brought in Jackie Buhn of Athenian to assist in the kick-off meeting and planning, due to the work Athenian accomplished in the Philadelphia School District Master Plan.
Result
The iterative work of the SMMUSD master plan is on-going as of 2007.
